Colour Technician of the YearHe first started his hairdressing career at the age of fourteen in Cardiff as a Saturday boy. The idea that he could positively affect people's self-esteem by making them feel wonderful inspired Jason to follow his passion. Today Jason creates beautiful editorial hair for international fashion campaigns, catwalk shows and lifestyle publications.
Leaving Cardiff in 2001 to fully submerge himself in the industry, Jason continued pursuing his passion at Cobella. Here Jason designed a training program that took young students from first level training through to a level 3 qualification, as well as building an impressive portfolio which can help them transition into a session stylist like himself. While developing this programme, Jason worked alongside the brand's namesake, Anestis Cobella, learning and developing his own skills in both hairdressing and business whilst helping to mold the Cobella brand.
Today Victoria Beckham and Sienna Miller are considered as clients, having worked closely with both over recent years. As well as working on high-end fashion campaigns for Net-a-Porter and Selfridges, Jason has formed strong partnerships with a section of photographers and producers. A recent collaboration with portrait photographer Debbi Clarke has seen Jason style the hair for a selection of limited edition prints of Damian Lewis, Paul Weller and Lord Snowdon, to name a few.
Combining his session styling with salon work, Jason is part of a unique tribe that crosses the boundaries of both. Jason can be found working backstage at Tom Ford, Mary Katrantzou or Vivienne Westwood one day and in his London base, Smooth You Town Spa, the next.
Although Jason continues to build his name in London, he has not lost sight of home, with his self-titled salon located in the Vale of Glamorgan. In July 2015 Jason was named Colour Technician of the Year at the Welsh Hair & Beauty Awards.
