Award-winning hairdresser Ken Picton heads up the destination salon in Wales as well as leading shows and seminars in front of thousands, working backstage on fashion shows and producing imagery that's seen around the world. The salon also looks after the cast of Casualty, Doctor Who (including Catherine Tate), Gavin & Stacey (including Ruth Jones) and a host of other presenters, actresses and actors, and has worked on LFW shows (Vivienne Westwood, Ashish.)

Running an organisation that's the perfect balance of business and creative success, Ken heads up a 40-strong team at the salon, which was been named Best Salon Team (for a first-class team that always delivers) and Best Salon Experience (for a salon that provides the ultimate service to clients) in the prestigious Most Wanted Awards 2011. This is the third year of success for Ken at the British Hairdressing Awards – he has been named Wales and South West Hairdresser of the Year for the third time and enters the hall of fame next year. Ken was also named BHA Colourist of the Year for the first time with Paul Dennison after creating his innovative collection inspired by Andy Warhol's pop art print of Marilyn Monroe. A week later he scooped the Fellowship's Fashion Focus Image of the Year award for his Chunky Plaits image from the Automik collection. Other awards held by the salon include Salon of the Year, won twice, awarded by the Fellowship for British Hairdressing; Innovator of the Year at the British Hairdressing Business Awards 2010; Visionary of the Year Award 2008, BHBA Salon of the Year and Manager of the Year 2012 – the list goes on!

A Key Ambassador for L'Oréal Professionnel, Kerastase and Shu Uemura, Ken has travelled around the world educating and is a L'Oreal Portfolio member – the only salon in Wales appointed by L'Oreal to represent their brand. Ken has been filmed for promotional videos, appeared everywhere from Montreal, Canada to China (at a show for 3000 people) and Spain (audience of 200) and Ken also created the 3 model hair looks at the Shu Uemura 5th birthday celebration at the Hempel Hotel. The salon recently launched kenpictonboutique.com, think netaporter for hair and beauty, to sit alongside the award winning kenpicton.com website (over 4000 unique users per month)…

Regularly booked for session jobs, Ken has shot for Elle and Marie Claire and his work has graced numerous covers from HJ and Your Hair in the UK to titles all over the world. He has featured on TV shows including Break With The Boss.
