From the age of 14, Robert Kirby knew he wanted to be a hairdresser. At the age of 16 he gave his first haircut and colour, but when the client ended up in tears, Robert had to prepare himself for the worst. Days later, the client's husband came to the salon to discuss his wife's transformation She had gone from having very long hair to a bob but instead of expressing anger, he simply wanted to say "thank you". He said that Robert had changed his wife's life, in every positive way imaginable.

Since then Robert, originally from Dublin, has kept on changing lives, and inspiring other hairdressers. Over the past 29 years, he has worked with esteemed salons such as Peter Hair Creations, Peter Mark (both in Dublin) and Sanrizz, and ran his own successful salon. In 2010 he was nominated for Southern Hairdresser of the Year in the British Hairdressing Awards and went on to work with many international fashion designers for their catwalk shows.

Today, Robert is on call for everything from music video shoots to magazine front covers and has worked with celebrities such as Nicole Scherzinger and Lydia Rose Bright. With the launch of his new London salon, Robert's star is set to soar further still.

Based in Balham, in a space that is over 100 years old, the new Robert Kirby salon will be a home away from home for clients who want beautiful hair, in relaxed surroundings. But Robert isnft planning on stopping there; therefs also a training academy on the way with bookings already coming in from Italy and Denmark and a product line in the offing.

Robert is also excited to announce his partnership with ID Hair, the fastest growing haircare line in Europe. "It's a very family orientated business and I like that. I want to use my creativity to bring the brand to the UK and help it grow" says Robert of the partnership.
