We interviewed Anne Veck from Anne Veck
What was your inspiration for the salon?
I alway read salon interior features in the trade press so the inspiration came from various directions. It was more a case of working with a designer who understood what we wanted to create.
Who is your role model?
Difficult to say as different people inspire me for different reasons. I really like the work of Leatitia Guenaou from Haute Coiffure Francaise, in fact I find all this French team very inspiring.
Best moment? (customer base/ award winning/ promotion/ messages/recommendation)?
There are a few. My name above the salon door. My first selection for BHA Avant Garde Hairdresser of the Year.. presenting my work at the Royal Albert Hall in the Alternative Hair Show for the first time. and Winning Matrix Destination Fame.
Funniest hairdressing moment?
Cutting somebodys hair above the ears....when they meant over the ears....or what did they mean? I had been in England a few weeks, my English wasn’t great and I cut the guy’s hair very short when he wanted it left long!
Best piece of advice anyone has ever given you?
Never stop learning. Life is a continuous journey not a destination. The success of my business is not negotiable.
Whats the most important quality you look for in someone joining your team?
Great people skills. enthusiastic and positive personality, as these qualities cannot be taught.
What would you like to be known for?
My professionalism.
What couldn't you live without?
My Mac.
