Top Three Festival Styles For Summer
Westrow Co-Founder And Director, Steve Rowbottom, Reveals His Top Three Festival Styles For Summer 2016
Rainbow Bright
The seemingly never-ending trend for playful colours, rainbow shades and icy pastels is perfect for the forthcoming festival season. The perfect opportunity to wear standout shades and try out more temporary, trend-led styles, festivals allow you to push the boundaries, so why not opt for clashing shades of mint, turquoise and duck-egg blue? For a subtler take on the trend, stick to pale pinks and mauves, weaved delicately through the ends and underneath of the hair. When opting for rainbow shades, unless hair is already bleached naturally white blonde or very light grey, it will need to be pre-lightened before the colours are applied. Opting for a professional treatment, such as Kebelo BONDAGE, during the colouring process, is a great idea when pre-lightening, or applying any colour to the hair, as it prevents hair breakage, and helps to not only retain the hair's integrity, but improve the condition, strength and health of the hair, too.
Twists
This is a perfect festival style, as it holds better, lasts longer and looks edgier when styled in to hair that hasn't been washed for a couple of days. Leaving a loose section of hair around the temples, randomly twist small two-inch sections of hair from the front of the head to the back of the crown, and pin in place with Kirby grips. When finished, use fingers to tease fine strands of hair from out of the twists, to give the style a less polished, more worn-in look.
Messy Top Knot
This nonchalant style is so easy to recreate, and can even be done without a mirror and hairbrush, making it a go-to look for festivals. Gather all hair together and pull it forward, before twisting in to a high bun near the front of the head. The height this style creates is super flattering – it narrows the face and draws the eye to your cheekbones – and the dishevelled nature of it disguises dirty hair. For a pre-festival treat, consider a salon treatment such as Kebelo ADVANTAGE, which leaves hair smoother, glossier and free from frizz for up to 100 days. It ensures the perfect foundation for festival styling and means that even if it rains – a standard feature at any British festival – hair won't become frizzy, unruly and difficult to style.
