Get Catwalk Ready With Celebrity Hairstylist Asgar Saboo
Accessory Additions
Head wraps tied in different styles around the head are hugely on trend right now. This look has made multiple appearances on the glossy heads of our favourite celebs as well as making statements on the catwalk. Other accessories to experiment with include jewels, flower clips, metallic crowns and glitzy diadems. Be bold and go for the XXL versions of these accessories.1. Wrap the head wrap about the hairline.
2. Tie off the head wrap at the front on the forehead when the centre parting is.
3. Tie the ends into a bow for an extra cute look
4. Style your hair around the statement accessory.
The Fierce Top Quiff
Curly, romantic or held tightly in place, this versatile, rebellious look is firmly back on the style agenda right now.1. Section off the hair from the top of the forehead back as far as the crown as this is the bit of hair that will be the quiff. For a more subtle look make it slightly smaller.
2. This look is more easily achieved a day after washing. Fresh, clean hair makes the hair slide and will fall out of place without more product added. For freshly-washed locks, add a generous amount of mousse or texturing powder to the front section of the hair. This will give serious hold without the hair going hard and sticky.
3. Get your hairdryer and rough dry the section of hair from the front to the crown; lift the roots to give the hair as much lift and volume as possible
4. Start backcombing the hair from the back to the front. This is to create a smooth finish at the front that will hide the harsh backcomb behind.
5. Once the quiff's complete, style the rest of your hair. A quiff looks best set against slicked-back hair, this can be done by just pull the back into a tight ponytail.
6. Finish with a spritz of hairspray!
The Low Sleek Pony
This season, low ponytails simply held in place by a hair tie is on trend for a youthful, elegant and up to date look.1. Smooth out the hair with a flat iron to get a flawless sleek look.
2. Rub shine serum all over the palm of hands and run through the hair from the mid-section of the hair to the tips. Do not start at the crown as this could make the roots look greasy.
3. Grab a clear elastic and carefully gather that sleek hair into a low ponytail. Place the pony at the nape of the neck and secure it with the elastic. For a bolder statement and the run way look add a larger accessory over the clear band.
4. Finish by spraying some hairspray onto the bristles of a brush to smooth out any remaining frizz.
5. If there are still flyaways, spray the hairspray onto a toothbrush and use that to smooth down the hair.
The Centre Parting Wave
The classic centre parting with luscious waves is the perfect style for those with mid and long tresses. The timeless look will promise to make you look front row ready.1. Whilst wet part the hair with a fine comb to get the ultimate straight central parting.
2. Blow dry out the hair pulling the roots up to create volume.
3. Once dry add texture powder to the roots and brush out the lower section on the hair.
4. Divide and wrap individual 2 inch sections around a curling tong and brush through to loosen.
5.Spray with hairspray to create extra shine.
Twenties Style Waves
Twenties retro vibes are back on trend this season and are the perfect style for a luxury, glamorous, perfectly groomed look.1. Divide the hair horizontally into three sections: Pin up one at the crown and one at the tops of the ears, and leave the remainder loose.
2. Beginning with the bottom, unpinned section of hair, curl the hair with a curling iron with a 1.5-inch barrel. Holding the curling iron vertically to thehead, work from the top to the bottom around the barrel. Continue curling until finished both the bottom and middle sections.
3. When curling the top section, separate out a section of hair two to three inches wide and place the curling iron so that it is parallel to the central parting. Gently pulling the hair out away from the head and clamp down on the uppermost part of the section for a few seconds.
4. Now place the curling iron immediately below the bend that the curling iron created in the hair. Making sure that the hair threads underneath the barrel, clamp down on the hair, gently pulling it out from the head.
