Anna Sorbie, bridal hair and beauty specialist and founder of bridal consultancy, annasorbie.com, predicts the top three bridal hairstyle trends of 2017, as seen at Bridal Fashion Week Spring 2017, explains how to recreate these trends and reveals which style of dress they are best worn with.

Dishevelled up-do.

Get the look: This is all about taking the traditional up-do and making it fresher, more modern and less ‘done'. A very modern way to wear bridal hair, this look is effortless, yet still elegant. For a really relaxed take on this look, prep the hair with L'Oréal Professional Tecni Art Volume Lift Spray Mousse and heat protection spray L'Oréal Professional Constructor.

Take inspiration from Isabelle Armstrong, where models wore hair roughly side parted and then tied back loosely, with face-framing strands left loose around the face. For a style that is pulled away from the face, add texture with L'Oréal Tecni Art Beach Waves and follow Carolina Herrera's lead by pulling hair in to a traditional chignon twist, twisting the ends in to a high bun. Lightly pull strands from the bun, and gently tease wisps of hair out around the face.

Wet-look

Get the look: This is a very daring bridal look, but when done correctly, it can produce beautiful results. As with any bridal look that is heavily trend-led, the bride must be encouraged to really think carefully before choosing this style.

This look works best when all of the hair is scraped back, without a parting or any loose tendrils, both of which can make the overall look appear greasy. To avoid an unflattering overly slicked-back finish, hair should also have an element of volume to the roots. Apply body with TIGI Bed Head Small Talk and add to damp hair before blow-drying to help achieve this.

The high-shine, wet-look finish can then be added at the end using L'Oréal Professional Wet Domination. The final effect should be neat, tailored and sleek.

Key product: Use Crystal Gloss by L'Oréal Professionnel, applying it with a dressing brush. Then add even more gloss, this time using fingers, to add maximum shine and to give a super-wet finish.

Spring 2017 style to wear this with: Oversized bows, as seen at Carolina Herrera, Oscar De La Renta and Peter Langner. The simplicity of this style is a beautiful contrast to dramatic dress details.

Braids

As seen at: Skinny double plaits were seen at Houghton and Lela Rose, while elegantly unkempt side braids were worn at Galia Lahav.

Get the look: The braid trend is going nowhere in a hurry and with good reason: it's a flattering, wearable look that can be made to look edgy, romantic or sexy. Plaits are the perfect bridal style for women who don't want a traditional up-do, but who would like to wear their hair away from their face.

For a stylish side fishtail braid that's full of body and has that on-trend tousled finish, prep hair with L'Oréal Professional Full Volume Extra Mousse before rough-drying. To really encourage maximum volume, re-apply the mousse, once the hair is dry with L'Oréal Professional Pli and re dry the products in until the desired hold and texture is achieved.

Create a braid on one side, picking hair out, to give the braid a 3D-effect and finish with L'Oréal Professional Crystal Gloss.

Spring 2017 style to wear this with: Off-the shoulder, as seen at J.Mendel, Marchesa and Reem Acra. This look needs a neat neckline and bare skin, to prevent it from looking too fussy and to really show off the detail in the braid.
