Jack Howard is tipping red as the hottest colour for this season

Jack Howard is an international hair colourist with clients including Gillian Anderson, Poppy Delevingne and Suki Waterhouse. Jack recently created red hues for Clara Paget and Bonnie Wright.

“Red is the hot topic of the moment, I've had noticeably more requests, and everybody can wear red – it's just about finding your perfect shade. I prefer the coppers to the brick reds but it's all a matter of taste.”

Actress Clara Paget recently visited Jack Howard at Paul Edmonds London. Says Jack, “Clara is currently filming Black Sails and her character is a pirate. Whilst in town, we took her back red again.”



Another regular client, Bonnie Wright visited Jack for an update on her signature copper shade for a shoot with Elle UK.



“I'm seeing copper tones everywhere at the moment” says Jack. “Look at stars like Bonnie, Christina Hendricks and Emma Stone as your poster girls for the look.”



“Although the copper tones can vary from a stonewashed shade to a bright copper, this colour is all about a natural shiny looking finish rather than an artificial red.”



“If you want a more realistic look then it's skin tone, eye colour and lifestyle that are the fundamentals of a colour consultation - if it's more out there colour you want then those rules don't always apply. A drastic colour change to red means you should also reassess your make up and wardrobe.”

A final piece of advice from Jack: “If you're not sure if you'd suit a cool or a warm tone, a great tip is hiding in your jewellery box; simply look at whether you lean towards silver (cool) or gold (warm) accessories as this will give you a great indication of the sort of shade you should be wearing.”
