VMA Awards 2015 Hair Styles and how to recreate them at home
The playful pony: As seen on Miley Cyrus and Britney Spears at this year's VMA's, this is a look which we've also seen on the catwalks. It's sophisticated but is also a playful look which is perfect for showing off killer cheek bones. Pull your hair back tight and make sure that it's all fastened on the top of your head, using Kate Moss' ‘Croydon face lift' as inspiration. You can style this look with straight or wavy hair, and take inspiration from Miley and add some hair extensions for a perfect party look.Boho waves: this year Vanessa Hudgens rocked this look, but this has always been a firm favorite among celebrities at the VMA award. Either plait your hair and sleep on it overnight to get some lived in waves, or use curling tongs to take random sections of hair to create loose waves. Make sure you use some salt spray to get the tousled, sexy style that's been so popular recently, and backcomb to get the volume you want at the roots.
Fringe: this year was all about the fringe, as stars from Kylie Jenner to Nicki Minaj showcased. If you are not ready for the commitment of a full on hair-cut, why not try clip-on fringes, an easy way to change up your look for a night out? Simply clip the fringe in to the crown of your head, beneath strands of hair to conceal the clip. This is a great way to test out a fringe before taking the plunge and chopping your hair off – or just a fun hairstyle to add to your collection.
The wet look: Demi Lovato and Kim Kardashian were seen sporting the ‘just-came-out-of-the-shower' look, and it's not as complicated as it looks. Simply comb the hair back with a flat paddle brush and apply some fixing hair gel. Do not be afraid to use in large quantities, you are aiming for a wet finish. Finish the style off by tucking strands of loose hair behind your ears and spraying with hair spray.
Middle parts: the easiest look to recreate, and a favourite at the VMAs. Ciara, Kourtney Kardashian and Emily Ratajkowski all opted for the classic middle part. For all with a side part, try something different and create a simple middle parting. This easy step can transform your look in less than a minute, and will never go out of style.
