The best way to go about this to give your hair a more natural look is to tone it down with semi-permanent colour. Without looking at your hair it may be that your hair has gone a little yellow which is why it’s not working for you! Maybe opt for a caramel shade as this is a happy medium shade until you can afford to go back to your colourist. However as you’re not happy with what your colourist has done I would suggest going to back to the salon to ask for help – I’m sure your colourist would prefer that you were happy and would return! Most salons will also offer this as complimentary as you are unhappy with the service provided originally!

It sounds as though your client is really over-processing her hair which may be why your not getting the colour she wants. I would personally work on the condition of the hair rather than the colour for now. Majicontrast will give a more metallic colour to the hair as opposed to something that looks natural so until the condition of your client’s hair improves I would steer clear of any more colouring.

Hi Nicole, firstly I would suggest that you need to avoid too many chemical treatments on your hair at present as it sounds as though your hair is struggling to cope with colour after relaxer after colour. Usually when you put black on top of red it should go black quite quickly but as you’ve had a relaxer as well the colour has turned green which is an indication of damage. I really would visit a specialist who will be able to start your colour-correcting journey but I’m afraid the pink may take a long time to achieve – I would perhaps suggest starting by taking the hair back to red which will counteract the green and bring your hair to a slightly browner colour and then wait until your hair is back in optimum condition before embarking on a brighter colour.
