Westrow Colour Trends for Autumn-Winter
By Jenny Pelter - Technical Director Westrow Artistic TeamTHE BRONZE AGE
Pinky rose gold and bronze tones are set to be a super hot hair colour trend for A/W14 and can be achieved by mixing together baby pink and golden honey tones. This was showcased in fine form at Peter Som, who fitted models with hairpieces in beautiful shades of apricot and pink. To achieve this look, blondes should try smudging butterscotch, honey hues with modern baby pink this season for a luxurious take on the trend, as this will give blonde hair a touch of warmth. These warmer tones also add colour to paler skin complexions throughout the darker months.
FRESH & WILD
The catwalks were awash with wild beauty at Alexander McQueen, where hair took hold of cold and flat tones. We saw a mix of cool, natural colours, from light blondes to glossy blacks. This trend is going back to basics, showcasing an extreme spectrum from blondes and darks, with no in-between colour. This trend will showcase the lightest and cleanest blondes to the darkest, deepest blacks. Think raw and wild colours with no tonal changes to break up the bold and extreme colour tone. This look will also enhance the porcelain skin trend prevalent this season.
FRUIT PASTELS
Marc Jacobs, transformed the hair of his models into 60s inspired pastel, nude bobs. Blondes were transformed into angelic, mauve pinks with beautiful pastel-coloured hues. Darker hair tones took on softer, cooler palettes using nude shadowing to form pastel reflections on dark hues. This is the season to embrace pastel tones; whether you are blonde, brunette or a red head, this trend works for all.
