Allilon - Spring - Summer 2015 Colour Trends
From Madeleine Murphy, Colour Director, Ena Salon and Education Colour Director, Allilon Education.
Spring/Summer 2015 will see a move towards a cooler, softer side of the colour spectrum and an ethereal mix of understated bright hues, pale pastels and natural tones will showcase a more experimental side to hair colour.
Vivienne Westwood's collection took inspiration from fairytale characters –think Snow White and Little Bow Peep, with models wearing their dusty coloured hair in ringlets, encased in an array of quirky millinery, including upturned basket hats.
Ryan Lo was totally tropical this season, showcasing a gorgeously girly collection of floral tones and textures with Grecian-inspired, slicked back hair profiling a whole host of new season hues, including copper, toasted almond and mocha.
On the catwalks, natural, virginal hair was everywhere. Christopher Kane's girls rocked natural global colour ranging from beige blonde through to rich browns, while Miu Miu showcased grown-out blonde highlights worn with a scruffy edge. At Burberry Prorsum – one of the hottest shows of the season –colour moved from the heavy balayage and ombré of season's past towards a more modern take on highlighted styles with an added softness. In contrast, models at Hermes graced the catwalk with long, swept back brunette hair with a glass-like shine.
Deep auburn, Bordeaux tones and rich, warm, red-browns will be the most popular red shades of the S/S15 season. Hair will have a beautiful weightless feel, with an increase of natural tones replacing last season's brash, bright hues. Fashionistas will still use statement colour, just in softer, dustier tones.
