Mens Autumn Winter 2015 Hair Trends
Ted's Master Barber has rounded up the key hair trends for gents this Autumn/Winter, what to ask your barber for and how to style the look at home.
Effortless Texture
As long as your hair isn't thinning, you're safe to experiment with varying degrees of choppiness. The most important thing to remember after having a textured haircut is to employ the right product to get the most style from your cut. The thicker your hair, the harder the product you should use. Regular hair types should use Ted's hair wax; warm up and spread a pea-sized amount in the palms and apply throughout the roots, before using the palms enthusiastically to gain a spontaneous, messy look. Pinch with the fingertips to add definition in the areas you desire. Style when the hair is dried for maximum creativity.
Chaps with thick, bushy hair should use a softer product to help separate clumps while maintaining choppiness. Applying Ted's Hair Putty while the hair slightly damp will help to apply the product evenly.
Slick and Sleek
For most haircuts we recommend a visit to Ted's barber once a month, but this sleek style requires slightly more regular upkeep to maintain its crisp lines – we recommend once every two to three weeks. This is vital in retaining the signature definition of the look.
You have two options when styling this look at home. If you have time before a date or night out, wash and blow-dry up from the roots, using a brush to sweep the hair up and over, especially at the front. You can then use Ted's hair putty to add definition and sleekness by working back and through your barnet.
If you're late for a meeting and don't have time for a hair wash, dampen your follicles and sweep up and over with your fingers. Then, warm up a decent amount of Ted's hair putty and work back and through from the roots up, to achieve the sweep this style requires. For added definition, pinch the hairtips.
Long Locks
It's vital that men with long hair do not shampoo as regularly as they would with short hair. Once every other day will ensure that long hair isn't distressed when wet. Remember to condition every time you wash as well.
Long hair works for most face shapes. However, those with rounded features should definitely avoid long styles as this frames the face, emphasizing large cheeks and giving the appearance of an extremely wide face.
