The inspiration behind the look
This look is a modern take on a pixie cut, the difference here is that the fringe is kept slightly longer making it more feminine and the movement and texture in the top give a youthful, current feel.

Does it have dress down/dress up options?
People think they are limited with short hair as to what they can do but this couldn’t be further from the truth with this style. By keeping the length on the top there are lots of ways it can be styled to make it look different for a night out or event. It could be tonged for an uber trendy curly look, or diffuse-dried for a softer, waved texture - like in the Chloe ad campaign for Autumn/Winter 2014/15, quiffed for a rockabilly-inspired style or braided with a small coloured weft to give a beautiful beachy Grecian feel. It’s all about being creative with shorter hair.

Which hair types does it work for? ie fine/thick, etc
This look works on the majority of hair types. With thicker hair, I would keep it slightly longer and take lots of texture away from the root. On the other hand it is a fantastic cut for making fine hair look thicker.

Which skin tones/complexions/eye colours suit the colour best?
Pale skin tones work fantastically with this blonde colour, blue and green eye colours will also be accentuated by the sweeping fringe.

High or low maintenance?
Provided you keep on top of the cut with regular trims every six weeks, this look should be fairly easy to maintain. The cut should do all the work for you when blow drying.

What face shapes best suit this style?
Works best with an oval face shape; avoid if you have a round face shape.

Any important blow dry/styling tips?
Don’t over work the hair. The key to this style is its natural movement; by over drying it you will lose this. As I mentioned before, the cut should be doing all the work here so blast into shape and finish the top with a large round brush and some product.

Best products for the style and colour?
Your products should be bespoke to your hair type, but if you have normal to fine hair a fingertips-size amount of kerastase forme fatale applied to towel-dried hair will give light amount of hold whilst still allowing the hair to move. It’s the perfect product for this look.

Are there certain make up/clothes shades that are ideally suited to the colour?
A strong eyebrow works really well with the cut; consider having your eyebrows shaped and tinted for a more natural but defined look. Lips are also a great focus point with this style, MAC do a lip colour called ‘Morange’ which is well known amongst makeup artists and would work perfectly with this colour and cut.
