Summer Hair Trends
The month’s hair trend predictions
Style
Being a soul boy at heart, you can imagine my delight to see clean lines from the 1950s and 60s back on the hairdressing scene. Think a great hair cut with a flawless finish for both men and women and you will be heading in the right direction. Nothing beats a good haircut. A good haircut defines you; it becomes a vital part of your identity. That is why it pays to adopt the right hairstyle for you.
Another one of my favourite era’s is making a come back too – with a modern twist; The Mod. Recently seen on actress Emma Stone, who opted for a cute 70s cut – ask your stylist for eyebrow-grazing bands and a lob with subtle layers that start halfway down your strands.
Layered hairstyles are one of the most popular and attractive ways to wear hair of any length. Hair layers add gorgeous body, movement and volume to any haircut, especially for long and thick hair. It is all about texture with layers and bang. Say goodbye to blunt cuts and dull hair. This is the time of versatility. Try graduated and choppy layers or glam up your look by opting for a soft-layered haircut that is chin length or slightly below the chin
Ever wondered how the A-listers get their hair so shiny and fabulous on the red carpet? Well I might have just the answer .Turn the temperature down on your shower once you’ve rinsed out the conditioner and blast your hair with the coldest water you can handle. Always use a conditioner on your hair because the acidity helps close the hair cuticles and make them smoother. Then towel dry and apply a light serum whilst the hair is still wet. This starts the drying process and reduces the need for excessive blow-drying, which reduces shine. The end result should be gleaming shiny hair that reflects the light nicely.
Colour
This is the time to experiment with colour.. Ask your stylist to give you a skin tone and eye colour consultation to choose what shades are right for you and then there is a whole colour palette there for you to work with from. Personally, there are no limits with colour just make sure it looks shiny and amazing and you can’t go wrong! Summer is a great time to play around with brights and pastels in your hair especially throughout festival season. The most important thing is to have fun with your hair and find out what works for you and makes you feel good!
