Julie asks:
Can you suggest a nice style for my wedding day I have short layered hair with a fringe top layers fall to the left?

Have it blow dried really well and add a fabulous fascinator - something really sparkly that clasps your head.
Enjoy |
Jayne asks:
I wore a lovely hat to a friends wedding and after taking it off my hair was as flat as a pancake, even my fringe was ’flat’ it looked awful - what can I do the next time?
| | Answered By: Charlotte Murray | |
Hmmm! It is a problem. You could pin curl your hair underneath the hat which you can shake out once you take it off or pile your hair up under it to stop it being flat. |
Walter asks:
How long after a perm can you colour?
| | Answered By: Charlotte Murray | |
I think you need to ask your hairdresser so they can check with the manufacturer’s guidelines. |
Gemma asks:
I am getting married next May and don’t know what to do with my very fine hair I was thinking of getting extensions but had them before and as my hair is so fine you could see the glue through my hair, and to put my hair up I don’t have enough hair to get a fab up do can you help please as I have no idea what to do, I also have a veil and small tiara.
| | Answered By: Charlotte Murray | |
Congrats on getting married. Ok, a few ideas...
If you are fair haired you could go a bit darker to give the illusion your hair is thicker. Getting some movement and texture in the hair is helpful. Be careful that your veil and tiara aren’t too heavy.
Have a few trials to make sure you feel confident with your hairdresser and take pictures. If it is loosely put up then the hair piece can be introduced into the top and blended in.
Good luck! |
Julia asks:
Please Help Me! I have been losing my hair since I was 25 and now I am 4 weeks away from my wedding and over the years (I am now 42) my hair loss is getting worse, especially on top and the sides. I want to feel like a woman, sexy and feminine on my wedding day but I keep crying and I am in despair!
| | Answered By: Charlotte Murray | |
I am so sorry for your obvious distress. Hair loss for anyone is very upsetting and especially as you are about to have your "big day". Do not despair. Firstly I would highly recommend an appointment at the Philip Kingsley clinic in London who specialise in hair and scalp problems. You could get a simple blood test done at your doctors to check your iron levels which is the most common cause of hair loss in women and is easily rectified with prescribed iron supplements.
Try not to panic, there are experts out there to help you. You are very welcome to come to my salon in Muswell Hill, North London, for a complimentary consultation for ideas concerning your wedding hair.
Good luck! |
Megan asks:
My hair is long, dark and straight and I plan on having it half up-half down and curly on my wedding day. I am doing my hair myself, I was wondering if you could recommend which products to use to get the curls to hold. I need them to be in all day and night which will be about 16 hours. What do you think will be best? And should I use curling tongs, rollers or straighteners?
Congrats on your forthcoming wedding!
| | Answered By: Charlotte Murray | |
I would recommend heated rollers on clean dry hair. Use Clynol "Mousette" when drying then Clynol "Freeflow" hairspray on the sections before you roll them in. Try getting a friend to help or maybe a young hairdresser if £s are an issue. Tension is the key to getting a good result. Do a few trials before to make sure you are happy and good luck! |
Magaly asks:
I have fine long hair, my wedding will be on March and I’m a small size, I think it would be better an up hair style, what would you recommend?
| | Answered By: Charlotte Murray | |
I would suggest, if you are petite to wear your hair either half up half down or all down to frame your face rather than all up which can make you look even more petite! Have fun |
Ellie asks:
I have quite thin hair and when I have it down it always looks so boring and flat. I want to have short layers put into it but I have been told that it would just make my hair look even thinner. Is this true or should I try it?
| | Answered By: Charlotte Murray | |
Going shorter in the length will really help. It allows the stylist to put more shape into the haircut. You may not be able to wear it up but hopefully, you won’t want to! |
Julie asks:
I’m getting married in 9 weeks my hair is nearly shoulder length with long layers I want my hair up have you any ideas?
| | Answered By: Charlotte Murray | |
Sounds like you have options with your hair being that length so you can go for up or down. Go on the hunt for hair accessories that will compliment your theme to give you inspiration and take it to your hairdresser. Get some movement in your hair by setting or tonging it. It gives you more choices. Look on the Style Gallery to help you choose and have a trial. Have fun! |
Louise asks:
I would like quite a funky hairstyle for my prom. But my hair is
layered and is quite thin. It comes just below my shoulders and is mid brown. Please can you suggest some hairstyles which you think would suit my hair?
| | Answered By: Charlotte Murray | |
Find a good hairdresser, get yourself a great hairpiece and get them to put your hair into a tight or loose ponytail. Put the hairpiece on top and accessorise with some fab pearls/ beads. Go for it! |
