My hair care routineDailyI use Grace Cole Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Shampoo (which is a clarifying shampoo) mixed with a little Wash & Go 2-in-1 shampoo. I find that with grey hair I have to strike the balance of keeping it very clean and not letting it become too dry. So, after experimenting, I came up with this particular combination. To be honest, I would love if a hair company could invent a 2-in-1 shampoo that would provide what I need but I haven't come across this so far. After rinsing and towel-drying my hair I apply a little TIGI Bed Head Hair Care Control Freak Defrizz & Smooth Serum - Frizz control and straightener. Then I blow-dry my hair and follow this by using my straighteners. I use the straighteners just to give my hair a final smooth appearance but only for a very short time and they are quite low temperature straighteners. High-heat straighteners would be damaging to the fine white hairs. To finish off, I rub together in my hands a small amount of the Tigi Bed Head serum and run my fingers through my hair. Finally, some hair spray.
Once a weekI wash my hair once a week with 'Silver by L'Oreal Professionnel Serie Expert Silver Shampoo'. I tried a few different types of 'blue' shampoo and discovered that this was the best product for keeping my white hairs white. I love it.
My wish is that hair companies would really promote and advertise their products for caring for grey hair. When I started on my journey to grey I had to search out the silver shampoo as I had never seen it advertised anywhere. Another product I'd love to hear more about is a hairspray suitable for grey hair which isn't drying.
Sometimes I find it a struggle trying the get balance of keeping my grey hair really clean so that the white hairs are bright and keeping it moisturised without having too much 'product' on it. I am also finding the rain and moisture in the air a problem too as the fine hairs can become frizzyish.
