The ’Exoticism’ movement of the late 19th century was incredibly significant for fashion as this trend influenced all aspects of art, including music, film and paintings. It has been the most important reference for me when planning the colour for the DeCCo collection. Looking to designers like Alexander McQueen, Christian Dior and of course Chanel gave me the inspiration for the colours I used to coincide with the vintage shapes. I really wanted to convey these exotic colours into wearable and bold hair colours. I worked with luxurious Burgundies, vibrant pinks, rich oranges, opulent violets and regal plums. This collection has led me to create new techniques: ’Lanvin’ and ’Simultane’Rae Palmer
