Kate Middleton
The eyes of the world were focused on the beautiful Catherine
'Kate' Middleton on Friday as she married our Prince William.
We waited with baited breath to see THE dress and, of course,
her hair and now we can show you how to copy Kate!
Our future queen looked simplistically stunning as she made
her first appearance to the world on her royal wedding day.
Personally, I was hoping for her to go for a half up and half
down style - and she did. She has a gorgeous, almost porcelain
doll-like face which should be framed and shown off with her
fabulous hair.
It was perfect, and set off beautifully by the historic diamond
encrusted tiara. Her hair was curled softly, showing off her
length and shine.
Here's how to do complete the pretty, delicate and classic
style of Catherine:
For a set style like Kate's, it is best to wash and
blowdry your hair in the morning. It gives you a shine
all day and helps with the volume.
For a heavy tiara, you need a good foundation
on the crown of the hair. Section off the whole crown
area, creating a side parting on the right. Secure with
pins, or a band, always wrapping a small section of
hair around to disguise the band.
Now, take sections from the back first, about
one inch in length and backcomb carefully. After each
section spray with a firm
hold gel spray. |
|
|
Don't use hairspray as it is difficult to brush through later
on.
Once your section is backcombed, using a bristle padded
brush, begin to smooth lightly over from front to back again.
Kate had a medium height to her front section - just enough
to see above the tiara.
Fix in place with grips, using the same colour as your
hair and pinning them into your foundation to disguise.
Now, curl the remaining hair. Kate wore loose curls,
so I would suggest velcro rollers. Using a medium size roller,
take each (dry) section of hair and spray with gel spray.
Blast with a hot setting on your hairdryer for a few minutes
and leave to completely cool before taking out.
Using a straightener will also give you the same look,
just clamp the hair a quarter of the way down from the root,
twist the irons 90º and slide towards the ends. The quicker
you do this movement, the looser the curl.
Do the same with the top section and run your fingers
through the curls. Use a final misting of gel spray and you
are ready to marry your prince!
The perfect hairdo for one's fairytale royal wedding.
