Kimberley Walsh shares all hair secrets

"The best budget beauty tip I've ever been given was from the Girls Aloud tour stylist Lisa Laudat. I love big bouffy hair, but all that backcombing can wreck my hair so every week or so, I need to do an intensive treatment. Lisa showed us that you don't need to buy anything expensive you can just use your normal conditioner - my favourite is Supersoft Yoghurt & Coconut as it's super moisturising - and then cover your hair with a plastic bag and leave for ten mins. Lisa had all of the girls on tour sat in our rooms with carrier bags on our heads! It's totally not glamorous, but it's a great cheap trick and really works. Just be sure to only apply the conditioner to the mid-lengths and ends, not to the roots."
With all that singing and dancing it's no wonder Kimberley has an enviable figure, but how does she stay looking so gorgeous on the beach?
"I still get the bikini-body fear before I go on holiday, but after a couple of days, I get over it. I tan quite easily and don't tend to burn, but protecting your skin and hair is so important. I slather on loads of sun-cream and if I'm feeling a little body conscious I'll wrap around a sarong. I also sometimes use a bit of body shimmer, which adds amazing definition to your body. I've naturally got quite fair hair, so I need to protect it, Supersoft Yoghurt & Red Berries is fab as it contains UV filters and smells divine. I'll take a bottle of conditioner down to the pool with me and apply regularly during the day to stop my hair getting dry and stringy."
Girls aloud channel so many amazing hair looks but Kimberley made it clear which one her favourite is.
"My hair icon has to be Bridget Bardot. I love big hair - the bigger the better - and she has it in sexy abundance! All that big bouffy backcombing just looks fab and so, so sexy - I definitely channelled her old-school glamour puss look in The Promise video. Supersoft's volumising Yoghurt and Lime shampoo and conditioner are great for adding lots of height and super strength."
Being in front of the cameras means that Kimberley really values her time for relaxation.
"When I'm not working I like to give my skin and hair a chance to breathe and try to keep as natural as possible. I'll try not to wear make-up (although if I do nip to the shops I'll always slick on some lip-gloss) and like to thoroughly cleanse and moisturise from head to toe. Supersoft's BIO pomegranate shampoo and conditioner are great as they don't contain any artificial colours, silicone or paraffin oils so they really cleanse my hair but also leave it nourished. I love a long, hot bath and afterwards I literally cover myself with loads of moisturiser and just let it soak in - it's time consuming but well worth it."
