Like the rest of the nation, you were probably glued to your screen following the latest season of Britain’s Got Talent (BGT). The prize may have gone to Ashleigh and Pudsey, but Amanda’s winning hairstyles for each show have equally captivated the nation!
Style sovereign and Co-Founder of A-list Chelsea salon Lockonego, Ben Cooke, is Amanda’s beauty must-have and the creator of her show-stopping BGT styles. For the season finale Ben went for a glamorous, forties-coiffed ‘do’. It was ‘old skool’ elegance all the way…
Below, Ben Cooke reveals how he created Amanda Holden’s style for the BGT final:
• Apply finishing touch cream into clean damp hair for a healthy gleam
• Use heated tongs to ease the hair forward towards the face and hold in barrel curls
• Once the full head is done, re-heat the hair with a dryer and diffuser to set the curls
• Thoroughly brush through hair with a paddle brush to loosen and mould. Start at the crown for a smooth effect, then use the brush to sculpt defined waves towards the bottom
• Create pin curls towards the front of your face (using small kerby grips) for an authentic forties feel
• Smooth over your roots and any fly-away hairs with a round brush, being careful not to disturb your waves
• To ensure hair stays in place spritz all over with a firm hold hairspray
