Doherty is also frequently in the limelight for his drug abuse and regular court appearances, along with his on-off relationship with supermodel Kate Moss.
In May 2006 Doherty was voted #2 in a poll by "NME" magazine depicting "50 of rock's greatest heroes" just behind Kurt Cobain.
