The street is a catwalk
I’m writing this week’s blog just hours from organising and taking part in a hair and fashion show for a new and exciting boutique opening in South Wales.
It featured the most stunning clothes and hats and some special guests including Welsh rugby legend Rhys Williams and amazing shoe designer and niece to Jimmy Choo – Lucy Choi.
We began at 7:30am and saw the last new client out at 7pm with a single chocolate digestive to keep us nourished all day – the life of a session stylist is a sixth gear high speed affair - and lots of fun!
While we had four minutes to completely transform our model through three outfit changes ranging from bridal, casual and evening glam, it left me thinking – why can’t everyday be a showcase for our hair?
Although we can discount the weird and wonderful Avant Garde styles created by stylists, Michelle Williams, Sarah Jones and Jo Humphreys and myself – why can’t out clients have styles “out of the box” like our brief stated?
Just because you have a bob – whatever length – doesn’t mean you can’t rock it with a big blow dry and sexy quiff. Just because you have long locks doesn’t mean you can’t get glammed up and become a vixen with victory rolls. So ladies – and gents of course – today, get glammed up. Use your street, office, school, college and home as your catwalk and rock your hair!
