The key to having great hair starts with your brushes. Even if you invest in a great quality product for your locks, it’s essential that you ensure you have the tools to use the products well.

I’ve always been a lover of a good paddle brush. Having long, thick and sometimes unruly hair I’ve been armed with a paddle brush for as long as I can remember! Even before you begin styling your hair you need your ‘tools’ to do the job properly(Or risk having not-so-fabulous hair!)

So, you’ve shampooed your mane, massaged your very lovely conditioner in and now you need your paddle brush to distribute said lovely product from ends to roots. The brushes I have to hand at the moment include the Spornette wooden paddle brush.

I say ‘brushes’ because I am an advocate for always having one paddle brush in the shower/bathroom and one on your dressing table/getting ready room or bedroom floor in my case! Then there’s no excuse for that extra (vital) 30 seconds of brushing the conditioner through your hair – whatever the length.

As well as being very eco and made out of wood I find the Spornette paddle brush looks smart, is very lightweight but with a quality feel to it. In the past I’ve used paddle brushes that have lived a short life – often breaking apart in a tangle in my hair as I’m left just holding the paddle – with no brush!

I thought I’d broaden my horizons in the Spornette range and check out what their round brushes have to offer. I absolutely LOVE big hair so I opted for the largest round brush they do and all I can say is that I’m addicted! It gives great volume, has a metal base which means you don’t have to put too much heat on your hair as the brush retains the temperature and it’s got a comfortable handle! You don’t realise how important this is if you are lucky enough to only need ten minutes not almost an hour to dry your hair!

I would definitely recommend Spornette brushes – have a go, just think of how toned your arms will be with all that blow-drying!
