TIME TO TALK
We interviewed Tracey Devine Smith from Angels
What was your inspiration for the salon?
The inspiration for the salon came from an array of Boutique Hotels in London, exquisite retail spaces, plus a lot of self-expression.
Who is your role model?
My parents have always been my role models and encourage me to achieve my goals.
Best moment? (customer base/ award winning/ promotion/ messages/recommendation)?
The highlight of my career so far, was winning Mens Hairdresser of the Year at the British Hairdressing Awards 2012. On a personal level, having my children has been the most rewarding thing I have done.
Funniest hairdressing moment?
I once walked on to stage with a trail of toilet roll on my shoe and tried very hard to manoeuvre it off without anyone seeing! They all noticed of course!
Best piece of advice anyone has ever given you?
Never forget where you have come from, they will love you on the way up and kick you on the way down.
Whats the most important quality you look for in someone joining your team?
I always look for a great personality! I can teach anyone how to cut hair but, I cannot teach them how to have a great personality!
What would you like to be known for?
I would like to be known for my great hairdressing skills, putting Scotland on the map and for being a strong female role model within the hairdressing industry.
What couldn't you live without?
Lip gloss and my phone!
