TIME TO TALK
We interviewed Pam Wrigley from Create Beautiful Hair
What was your inspiration for the salon?
We run our London training courses in the Fantastic Hairdresser Academy, the training rooms are light and airy, a perfect choice for teaching both wedding hair and makeup. We’re on the lookout for a new Manchester venue. So if there are any Salon owners out there with a training space available to hire we’d love to hear from you!
Who is your role model?
The Hollywood hair designers from the 1940’s and 50’s movies! The hair is amazing and I love the old films too.
Best moment? (customer base/ award winning/ promotion/ messages/recommendation)?
Winning the Best UK Wedding Hair Stylist 2013 Award in The Wedding Industry Awards this year.
Funniest hairdressing moment?
Difficult one, when I’m not teaching a lot of my work revolves around one of the happiest days of people’s lives, their wedding day so there lots of emotional moments most of them happy on the big day there are sometimes tears and but most of the time laughter it’s a lovely job to do.
Best piece of advice anyone has ever given you?
I really don’t like cutting or colouring I’m just not good at it. So when I was advised that I don’t actually have to be good at everything by a hairdresser friend of mine 10 years ago I stopped being so hard on myself. I came to realise that being amazing at creating beautiful bridal hair styles is definitely good enough!
Whats the most important quality you look for in someone joining your team?
Versatility, an ability to listen and work well in the background, in the field of wedding hair styling the bride is always centre stage. My team members also need to be great at styling hair!
What would you like to be known for?
I’d love our team to be known as the providers of the best bridal hair courses teaching people from all backgrounds how to create beautiful, wearable wedding day and red carpet hair styles for both long and short hair.
What couldn't you live without?
My yogaglo.com classes that I can do at home. I don’t get much chance to go to regular classes at the gym as my working hours vary from week to week so these classes keep me sane! I can do my yoga whenever I like, in my pj’s early in the morning or last thing at night before I go to bed!
