TIME TO TALK
We interviewed Carlos Valiente from Carlos Valiente
What was your inspiration for the salon?
My inspiration are my customers as they are the ones that have tipped over me and all my staff and is thanks to them that we are in constant evolution and growing.
Who is your role model?
I like acting with confidence, security and especially with responsibility, as it is what gives quietness to my customers and makes it a quality work.
Best moment? (customer base/ award winning/ promotion/ messages/recommendation)?
The best moment with the customer is when you make a makeover. When you finish the job his gesture changes and the smile reveals. “I love it” is the answer to the personalized work dedicated to your customer. Awards, without a doubt, when your name is said. “The winner is”. Messages always with good news and of course when a customer recommends your salon.
Funniest hairdressing moment?
One of the funniest was when I was finalist at Figaro and no one knew me and I arrive to present myself: they could not hide their surprised face. Another one was in London, with a great friend, Josep Toledano. Very funny. But I won’t explain it, hahahaha.
Best piece of advice anyone has ever given you?
Thanks God I am surrounded by very good people and great colleagues with lot of experience that provide me a lot and help me with my doubts. But if I have to five one I think it would be: “be yourself”, I love it.
Whats the most important quality you look for in someone joining your team?
Without any doubt be eager to learn, to grow and the implication in the project and the rest will arrive with the time.
What would you like to be known for?
As a working man and a good person, who likes his work and is always ready to provide his little grain of sand. Hahahaha and as that is not easy I keep just Best Spanish Hairdresser, for the moment.
What couldn't you live without?
I think that without the support of my people, I believe that they are fundamental for me and to be where I am and keep on going.
