HOW
TO BEAT SCALP DERMATITIS
|
Dr Hugh Rushton, a
specialist in hair and scalp science says that scalp dermatitis is not
necessarily a lifelong condition. He advises against colouring or perming
as any chemicals are likely to cause stinging and inflammation. Dr Rushton
advises cutting out dairy products for a period of about six weeks and
although you may notice a worsening of the condition for a short time
as the toxins work their way out of your system, you should notice a considerable
difference after around 40 days. You can then reintroduce foods gradually.
Dr Rushton also suggests
washing your hair every other day to get rid of skin flakes so your scalp
has a chance to heal and renew itself.
If you would like
to see a trichologist its worth mentioning to your GP next time you pay
a visit.
CHARLES
WORTHINGTONS HOLIDAY HAIR TIPS
According to Charles the hottest look for travelling is big sunglasses,
silk scarves and floppy hats! The hair it stiff and lacquered with masses
of body, height and wave. This way you will look as good when you arrive
as when you set off.
To achieve this look
Charles recommends washing and conditioning with volumising formulas and
finger drying using a body boosting styling product. If your hair is long
use heated or velcro rollers or a hot brush on shorter hair. Let the hair
cool before removing rollers, unwind, shake the head forward, lift up
then backcomb the crown for added height. Brush into place and keep it
there with a firm hold hairspray, Jackie Onassis style!
