Fave Raves! - Liz Earle Bodywash One of my longstanding favourites on the bathroom shelf has been Liz Earles Skincare System, and now I have to add her bodycare products to my must-have list. After years of searching for a truly natural range for sensitive skin (many ranges that claim to be 'natural' still contain harmful chemicals and detergents) I have long been a devotee of Liz's range. So I was more than pleased to use the new bodycare range that appeared in my
Christmas stocking! As with all Liz's products the results were amazing but again it was the heavenly aromas that clinched it! The Orange Flower Botanical Bodywash is absolutely gorgeous, wonderfully scented ,containing natural scource vitamin E and plant extracts the lovely smell of rose geranium is a superb way to start the day. And to end the day? Relax in a bath of Liz's aromatherapy oils delighting in such names as Harmony and Bliss .The smell is to die for, I promise! Liz's products are suitable for all skin types including the very sensitive and the customer care service is second to none so go on,treat yourself to a slice of heaven! Views & tips from your side of the counter........

BANISH THOSE BLUES!
If you are suffering from those Winter Blues in the aftermath of Christmas just walk them away! Short days, cold weather and low light levels can make us all feel a bit glum – but a recent study of 156 people suffering from depression found that when they walked for 30 minutes a day, three times a week their health and memories improved. They were better equipped mentally to organise their day and found it easier to complete tasks. The overall effect was that this regular walking made them feel better. If that’s not enough incentive then bear in mind that each 30 minute walk burns around 250 calories!

QUICK TIPS

  • Always smooth face products downwards and body products upwards – this helps to drain away toxins for firmer, healthier skin.
  • Splashing your face with cold water for 2 minutes boost circulation, exercises capilleries and helps to enhance the absorption of your moisturiser.
  • Iodine, found in shellfish, is said to stimulate spots, so if you regular breakouts, stay off the prawns!

Split Ends

How do split ends happen and how can I protect them?

Split ends occur when the hair loses its keratin binding cement, called ceramides. These are complex compounds of oils, minerals and proteins that are necessary for maintaining moisture levels and bind together the keratinic fibres. The most common cause is overuse of harsh detergent shampoo’s and chemical operations such as bleaching and perming. Other causes are harsh blowdrying, over vigorous brushing and climatic changes. Keep hair regularly trimmed to avoid splits ‘travelling’ up the shaft and always use good quality shampoo, preferably which contains ceramides. La Biosthetique do a good range as do L’Oreal Elvive.

QUICK FIX – STATIC

When you’re styling your hair and static is making it fly around in all directions just use two brushes! As soon as the static starts to build up with the first brush, switch to the other and continue styling!
