In
the countdown to Christmas,
I
thought I would share my shopping list with you. These are all gifts that I personally
will be buying for various members of my family and friends, each week I'll be
featuring three... • Be Long By L'Anza
- this will be neatly wrapped under my mother-in-laws tree this year. Ideal for
anyone with long hair, this beautiful gift set is top quality. •
American Crew - a big hit with my son on his birthday, I shall be presenting
this to my super smart, city slicker nephew. I absolutely love the fantastic fragrance,
really deep and fresh it makes the whole house smell clean! •
Mop Hair and Body Gift Set - absolutely perfect for my teenage niece,
she will love this trendy range. It's important, I feel, to make sure teenagers
use good quality products right from the start. The funky packaging and lovely
scents in this set will hopefully encourage her into a good routine. |

| Fancy
a Colour Boost?
If you don't normally colour your hair but would like to brighten your hair for
the party season, why not try a colour-boosting product? A colour booster will
enrich the light and dark tones of your own natural shade and the beauty of them
is that they're fantastic for adding shine. Here are our top 3:- •
Aveda colour boosting shampoos and conditioners. Different variety's for different
hair shades. • L'Oreal Professional Serie
Expert Gloss Colour Shampoo - achieves a deep colour after just one wash.
• John Frieda Born Blonde - obviously only suitable
for fair hair but brings out lovely highlights. |

Tip
Top Condition
Whatever hair type you are, a conditioning
product is an absolute must after washing. After all, you wouldn't wash your face
and not moisturise would you? (You wouldn't, would you?!) Moisture is as crucial
to our hair as it is to our skin, it's what keeps our hair soft and strong and
it's the key to shiny hair. Shampoo raises the cuticles during washing causing
the hairs to interlock and tangle. Conditioner smoothes the cuticles on the hair
shaft which boosts shine and gives a smooth appearance. To get the best from your
conditioner remember these guidelines:- • There's
no need to use conditioner anywhere near the scalp. • Unless you're
using an Intensive conditioner there is no need to leave it on the hair for any
length of time. Daily conditioners don't penetrate the hair shaft, they simply
smooth the outer layer. • Oil or panthenol based
intensive conditioners or those containing Vitamin B5 are the only products to
moisturise straight into the hair shaft. Make sure you rinse thoroughly as any
residue will make hair dull and greasy. • Dry, curly or chemically
processed hair will always need an extra moisturising conditioner that should
be supplemented with an intensive treatment about once a fortnight. •
Conditioners specially formulated for colour treated hair are a good choice as
they provide sufficient levels of moisture and work to lock colour in.
Some of our favourites are Kerastase Nutritive Protein Conditioning Milk,
BeLong by L'Anza and Philip Kingsleys Complete Remoisturising Kit.

| Q:
How can I keep my long hair in the best condition?
A: Apart
from having the ends trimmed regularly to reduce breakage, always use
a good quality product that especially formulated for long hair. My mum-in-law
swears by L'Anza's Be Long range, which is a beautiful pink, salon formula range.
Try to keep styling products to a minimum and if you use heated products, always
use a protective serum. Using a good quality hairbrush will also minimise damage.
