We
all know that too much alcohol is bad for us and can be very ageing
on the skin long-term. But studies suggest that a glass of red wine
each day as well as having certain health giving properties can
also have an anti-ageing effect on your skin. The chemical resveritol,
which is found in red grape skins, is a powerful anti-oxidant which
can keep skin looking younger as well as protecting the heart and
blood vessels. But stick to younger reds as these have more anti-ageing
properties than oak-aged varieties.

To
make a change from icing your favourite chocolate cake, why not
try a ganache? Ganache is a rich chocolatey mixture which will make
any chocolate cake special. Just melt 11oz (300g) of good chocolate
either in the microwave or over a bowl of warm water. Gently warm
a 142 ml tub of double cream then pour into the melted chocolate.
Whisk with a wooded spoon until mixture appears smooth and glossy
then use to ice cake. For extra special luxury crumble flaked chocolate
over the top before ganache sets. |
