HOW TO KEEP YOUR LEGS IN SHAPE
|
Remove
high heels every hour and give your feet a quick massage.
High heels stop calf muscles from relaxing and constrict
the blood flow.
When
you sit down try to put your feet up - use a footstool if
you are sitting watching TV or a footrest under your desk
at work.
For
instant refreshment lie on the floor with your feet and
legs straight up against the wall. Tuck your bottom up close
to the skirting board. This prevents blood collecting in
your veins - do this for about 5 minutes, especially after
a day on your feet.
TRICKS
OF THE TRADE
We
share these tips with you from 3 top make up - artists
ALI DAVIS is Prima Magazines beauty editor and has been
a make-up artist for around ten years. She has made-up Carol
Vorderman and Michaela Strachan amongst others. She says
-
"Yellow,
gold lipsticks do not suit anyone. If in doubt, slick on
a pale coloured lip shine like Bobbi Brown's Brown Shimmer,
it looks good on most people and is great over lipstick
too".
CATRIN
REES has made up many Celebs such as Lorraine Kelly
and Caron Keating and supermodels Laura Bailey and Lili
Maltese. Her tip -
"Put
on a small amount of eye shadow and blend with a clean brush,
then add a bit more and blend again, building up layers
to required depth. This keeps shadow crease-free and in
place for hours".
AMANDA
CLARKE has toured as the make-up artist with Janet Jackson
and has made up Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss. She also helped
to launch the Bobbi Brown make-up collection in the UK.
She says -
"A little
bit of blusher can give every face a lift and if you put
it in the right place you can be quite generous. Get your
blusher right by smiling and swirling the powder on the
apples of your cheeks. Always use a smallish brush - one
that too big will spread the colour too far across your
face".
PROBLEM
SOLVED
|
|
We all
have skin problems from time to time but persistent problems
often have an underlying cause.
RED
CAPILLARIES (broken veins) on cheeks are most common
in smokers. Caused by lack of oxygen to the skin the only
answer is to give up or cut down. Sorry!
CHAPPED
LIPS are usually caused by inclement weather conditions
so try to remember to protect them before you go out rather
than try to rescue them one you come in. If you have dry
lips all year round you could be lacking in B vitamins so
try to include more in your diet or take a supplement.
PUFFY
EYES are usually caused by water retention and can be
aggrieved by too much caffeine. Try to cut down on coffee.
CHIN
SPOTS as many women know, often breakout just before
your monthly cycle so around this time try to use a deep
cleanser and exfoliate on this area to keep it as clean
as possible to avoid a build of dead cells and blackheads.
CORNERS
OF THE MOUTH can become cracked and sore if you are
suffering an iron deficiency. Increase your intake or iron
rich foods (broccoli is excellent) or use a supplement which
has added iron.
NB
If you do decide to take any diet supplements its best
to talk to either the pharmacist or herbalist to discuss
the most appropriate one for you. Remember, never double
the dose in the hopes it will work better - this can be
dangerous.
