Spring
is officially here!
All the shops are full of spring wear
and it's nearly time to reveal your skin
to the world. If you've taken care of
it all winter you'll be well ahead, but
if you've been stuck in trousers, socks
and woolly jumpers all winter its time
to kick start your skins regime in time
to wear your crop trousers, sandals and
strappy tops.
After the rigors of the harsh weather,
central heating etc skin often needs a
boost at this time of year. Starting a
gentle exfoliating routine is excellent
to rid us of dead and dingy skin cells
and there are some fabulous ones on the
market.
L'Oreal's Body Expertise Exfotonic
is great at remaining dead, flaky skin.
It has a lovely foamy texture with tiny
micro beads to slough off the old, tired
skin.
After exfoliating, follow up with a really
good stimulating treatment to boost the
circulation. Liz Earles Hip & Thigh gel
is hard to beat as it contains practically
all the ingredients associated with energizing
and boosting - ivy, horse chestnut, grapefruit,
butchers broom , damask rose and much
more. These are the ingredients to look
for in a boosting treatment, as are those
which contain coffee.
Follow up with your favourite body cream
to keep skin really smooth and improve
the textural appearance. To give facial
skin a spring boost, try a moisturiser
that contains Vitamin C. Renowned for
its anti-oxidant, revitalizing properties
it will re-charge and refresh the look
and feel of the skin.
An absolute must
for smokers or anyone working in a polluted
atmosphere, although Vitamin C can occasionally
irritate very sensitive skins. Try VirginVie,
Avalon Organics or a lovely one available
from Boots is Lumene Vitamin Radiant Day
Cream.
Another real energizing treat for the
face is Biotherms Multi Recharge cream.
It contains Ginseng as its active ingredient
combined with Vitamin E for comfort and
hydration and Vitamin C for enlivening
the complexion. Do remember that little
and often is the way to go with exfoliation
and stimulation, don't be tempted to rub
too hard or to over use the product.
It
is not necessary to exfoliate more than
once or twice a week and although contour
gel products can be used daily on the
body, dry skins still need to put back
moisture with a good body lotion on top.
