We're often asked to recommend a good moisturizer
for
a mature skin. At 50+ it can be difficult
to find a really good formula that is rich
enough to combat dehydration without being
oily or greasy but we absolutely love L'Oreal's Age perfect Day Cream.
This beautiful formula is super hydrating
and really feeds a dry, mature skin without
leaving any greasy residue. Many day creams
for an older skin also have a strong wheat
germ aroma which some ladies find unpleasant
but Age Perfect has a really delicate fragrance.
It also smoothes on really easily offering
a comfort factor for tight, dry or sensitive
skins. This whole range was promoted by
the lovely Jane Fonda of course and is really
superb on an even more mature skin in the
60's, 70's and beyond. We saw fabulous results
on our testers who said their skin felt
soft and well nourished for the whole of
the day.
If your skin is particularly dry, even if
you are a little younger then we think you'll
love this whole range.
Too many
late nights? Too many parties? If
your eyes are telling the wrong story then
you might like to try Garniers Eye Roll
On. This easy to apply treatment contains
caffeine to stimulate and brighten the orbital
area and is wonderfully cooling when applied.
The roller action will help with drainage,
improving the look of bags and dark circles.
Apply in the morning onto clean skin and
then top up during the day if you're feeling
a little tired, its wonderfully refreshing
formula will help give you that wide awake
look. Persevere with it every day as the
eye area continues to improve with continued
use.
We've all
gone Burlesque mad lately and if
you're a fan than OPI have a real treat
for you. This worldwide nail company were
asked to produce the colours for the recent
film and now we can get our hands on their
fabulous colours.
If you fancy yourself as a Christina Aguilera
or Dita Von Teese then really go for it
with the gorgeously bronze Teasy Does It!
or glam it up with the Liquid Gold Rising
Star. If its red or dead for you then it
has to be Als Big Break - whichever you
choose we know you'll love them
Many paler
skinned women find it really difficult
to find the right foundation - one that
isn't overly coloured or too heavy. Porcelain
pale skin will instantly show if a foundation
is too rich in colour as there is so little
colour there to begin with, yet if there
is too much 'white' in the foundation it
can give a ghostly finish.
Very pale skin usually need a very light-weight
formula too, as again, a heavy formula will
always look overdone. We think you may like
to try Barbara Daly's Facelift Foundation
in Ivory.
The formula is an extremely light, mousse
type texture yet it gives extremely good
coverage that never looks heavy. A little
goes a long way and it's better to apply
a small touch at a time until you feel its
right.
Remember when choosing a foundation, whatever
your skin colour, always try it either along
the jaw line or if you're already wearing
make-up then test it on the inside of the
wrist as this skin closely resembles that
on the face.
Actually, we would recommend this foundation
to all women but particularly if you are
very pale then give this shade a go.
Available at most Tesco stores.
