For anyone suffering
from chronic neck pain or spondylitus, this
can often be a time of year when pain increases. Cold
weather can be really aggravating to neck-pain sufferers
and its really worth taking time not to leave the
house without a scarf.
The cold weather will encourage muscles to 'freeze
up' and can lead us to hunch our shoulders up near
our ears causing pain and stiffness when done repeatedly.
At this time of year you should wear a scarf or high
polo neck every time you leave the house and if you
have been shown gentle neck exercises to do then don't
neglect them this winter.
Try to do few minutes shortly after waking up just
to loosen the muscles ready for the day, and if you
feel yourself tensing your neck muscles against the
cold then remember your scarf.

Heated
wheat and lavender bags especially designed for neck
and shoulders can provide quite good relief and are
useful to wear ready-heated on long car journeys.

Did
you know ……… that
chocolate in small quantities can actually be
good for you as it contains antioxidants.
It must be good quality chocolate (70 per cent
cocoa solids). Two squares of chocolate amounts
to around 50 calories so if you're weight watching
such a small amount can't do much harm.

Unfortunately,
white chocolate has none of the healthy anti oxidants
of its dark chocolate counterpart - pity, as it's
my favourite! |
