Emma Bunton - The wholemeal diet is so easy

This bright little soul's smile can light up a room during these dark winter days. 17 months after becoming a mum, pop star Emma Bunton is in great shape. She started training for the Spice Girls' reunion tour, just 2 months after her lovely son was born. Her skin and hair glow with
health and her eyes sparkle. The secret is not a faddy, quick fix diet, but a combination of sensible eating and regular exercise.

Research reveals 30 Million Brits* are determined to be healthier in 2009, but by the end of January 7 out of 10 of us will have given up on that healthy diet, that seemed like such a good idea at the beginning of the year!

Yet, just by making some 'do-able' changes to your diet and lifestyle, you can still lose weight, increase your energy levels and feel a sense of achievement when you look in the mirror. Like Emma, the occasional 'chocolate treat' is a definite must and she is on hand with practical and simple tips to help maintain a healthy and balanced diet.

Emma struggled to lose the weight she gained during her pregnancy and yet she found that swopping to wholemeal bread not only made her feel better, but stopped her snacking.

"Since starting a family I've completely switched to wholemeal bread. Usually I have it for breakfast with a sliced banana, or sometimes for lunch - I do a mean cheese on toast! What's really good is that I no longer feel the need to snack as much.

I love the taste of wholemeal and it's really made a difference to my energy levels, which is important because I'm quite an active person. I love walking and going to the gym when I can, and then there's my son, Beau - he certainly keeps me busy!"

Emma recently launched the Wholemeal Challenge encouraging the nation to take simple steps towards being healthier in 2009. Whilst research shows that 6 out of 10 Brits usually eat white bread instead of brown, Emma Bunton and Fiona Hunter reveal in the web video below, how it is the simple changes such as
switching to wholemeal which can give significant benefits. It also makes for an easier New Year's promise which can be kept for 12 months rather than just one!
