Extensions
can really boost your confidence and make you feel like a new woman. The
secret is to get them done by an expert and follow Rafael's advice to
maintain and keep them in tip top condition.
Before getting your extensions:
Your hair should be clean and free of any product or tint if a
colour service was done prior to the extension service.
Choose the hair extension colour you want before they're fitted,
your expert should be able to match the colour you want. Don't consider
lightening your extensions, you will ruin them. Extensions can be coloured,
but only to deposit colour such as a darker colour or the same colour.
Your extension expert should ensure the bonds are heated sufficiently
when applying them and that they are closed completely at the top and
bottom of the bond - very important.
Looking after your extensions:
When you wash your hair use professional salon products, don't
apply conditioner or treatment to the bond area. Condition only the ends,
keeping it away from the bonds.
If you wash your hair before you go to bed, make sure the hair
and bonds are absolutely dry.
When blow drying your hair, don't leave the dryer near the bonds
for a long period of time.
