Gallery Award Winner 2010/2011 is Steven Carey, London (4th
in 2009) he has featured in the Top 20 Most Viewed Styles
every month in 2010. The style shown on the right was viewed
over 105,000 times and claimed the crown.
He beat Jo Hansford by just over 4,000 views and Royston Blythe
(2009 winner) came in third place.
Steven Carey is in demand from leading photographers, his
work has featured on the pages of directional magazines such
as Vogue, Tatler, Harpers & Queen and Elle. He continues to
work on collections in London, New York, Milan and Paris and
also works on hair shows and seminars throughout the world.
The team at Steven Carey, based within Daniel Galvin, George
Street, London, are proud of a long-retained client list,
as a result of their technical expertise, coupled with their
high levels of customer care and attention to detail.
All the Steven Carey team adhere to the same mantra, that
hair must be easy to maintain, healthy, lustrous and versatile.
TOP TRENDS UNFOLDING: The Style Gallery awards are
always a key to the latest hair trends and this year's awards
are no exception.

Blonde
and brunette styles have both been very much 'on trend', with
asymmetric cuts graduating back from chin or cheek length.
Many are heavily layered and high at the back, cleverly chosen
colours adding multi-tonal effects. Amazingly, although conical
wands and roller sets are everyone's top hair tools, 99% of
the winning styles in these awards are actually straight.
So
while we love to dress up our hair in curly, wavy styles for
those nights out and special days, we still reach for our
trusty straighteners when we want sleek control. There's a
hint of scrunch in some of the top styles and a crafty bit
of crimping to add body. The latest 'must have' definition
tool is the Root Lifter, it gives body and shape, so hair
doesn't lie too flat or look limp near the head.
Our
"Web Collections" top hair style (right), is also the runner
up in the Top Short Blonde category. Viewed 68,726 times,
it is a fine example of cutting and colouring technique. Unfortunately,
to date, we have yet to discover the name of the stylist/
salon who created this masterpiece. So if you know who deserved
