New
York New York
The "city that never sleeps" was the perfect place for party loving
Kate Moss to celebrate the launch of her ninth collection at the
opening of Sir Philip Green's shiny new US Topshop.
While many department stores are starting sales early, cutting back
on staff and competing for customers who are spending less, Topshop
is expanding. The four-storey shop echoes the design of the flagship
London store and is located in New York's Soho.
If the new store is the success everyone expects, Sir Philip plans
to open a second store in Manhattan and later expand to Miami, Los
Angeles, Las Vegas and Boston.
A shopper's paradise, 3,716 square metres with 32 changing rooms,
a DJ booth, a shoe lounge and 200 staff.
Kate's new spring collection has been eagerly anticipated and she
takes delight in wearing the latest designs herself. She has found
inspiration in LA thrift stores and vintage clothes, reworking and
accessorising to create the 'Kate look' for the Topshop lines.
The collection includes something for all tastes and pockets, from
tea dresses and sun dresses to

sequined evening attire. Kate loves floral prints, the tiny ditsy prints
have sold well - some of the new floral collection have drawn inspiration
from the luxury department store Liberty's archives.

Sir Phillip Green and Lady Green, Kate Moss, Marc Anthony and
Jennifer Lopez.
In
a recent interview, Kate talked about how her passion for the
brand comes from her heart and is not just driven by her head
for business.
Walking around her boss Sir Philip Green's office at Topshop
HQ, Kate told how she imagined organising a family daytrip to
Topshop.
She says: 'Sometimes, when I get here I don't feel like leaving,
and I'm often the last one here.'
Describing how she sees the store fitting into the American
scene, she said: 'They've got Banana Republic and Gap at one
end and Bloomingdale's at the other, but they haven't really
got that quirky thing in the middle.'
