and lots of hints to help you try them out yourself…..
Princess Plaits by Sophie Grant
Step by Step Guide
• To achieve this angelic look prep damp hair with Mist
to create a tousled effect
• Blow-dry using your fingertips to untangle, whilst maintaining
a textured effect that gives holding power for plaiting
• Separate the hair into two sections at the front, leaving
the back of the hair loose. French plait the two sections
at the front of the head and pull back towards the crown
of the head, securing with hair pins
• Next, plait the section at the back of the head and bring
up towards the crown
• Once all three sections have been plaited, twist together
to create an interwoven effect
• Spritz all over with a shaper spray to achieve a firm,
sleek look that lasts all day
Prom-Perfect by Ben Cooke
Step by Step Guide
• Apply Foam/mousse from roots to ends into clean damp
hair for a bit of volume
• To achieve this natural yet formal look roughly blow dry
hair using fingers instead of a brush to encourage natural
texture and waves.
• Once dry, use a wide barrelled curling tong to define
curls and add extra waves to the hair
• Next, scrape the hair back into a pony tail, leaving a
small square section at the centre-front free for styling
later
• Begin pinning the curled sections of hair at the nape
of the neck into a low bouffant
• Then gently fold the free section of hair at the front
backwards away from face, over the same barrelled tong to
guide the shape and form a slight quiff. Secure with hair
pins
• Apply a light coating of strong spray for lasting hold
Smooth
Blend by Ben Cooke
Step
by Step Guide
• Apply styling cream into clean damp hair for a healthy
gleam
• Separate the hair into a side parting and starting half
way down the crown, working your way down towards the neck,
take sections of hair and wind them around large heated
rollers
• Leave to dry with some heat from a diffuser and once the
hair is dry remove the rollers gently pulling the hair over
to one side
• Gently tease through with your fingertips to loosen and
mould hair into defined waves
• Smooth over your roots with a Round Brush being careful
not to disturb the waves at the end
• To ensure hair stays in place spritz all over with strong
hold hairspray
The Temp Haircut Sweeping
Glam Romantic Blow-Dry
By Jonathan Long
Step by Step Guide
• To achieve these classic day to evening looks volume
is key
• The Temp Haircut is an ideal relaxed day look. Simply
backcomb the hair at the crown and tie the hair back into
a loose up do, letting the sides of the hair fall loosely
around the face. Use a volumising powder at the roots (before
backcombing) to really pump up the volume
• For an evening look try Sweeping Glam by shaking the hair
loose and using wide barrelled curing tongs to define curls
and add extra waves to the hair
• Sweep the hair to the side and spray the finished look
with a strong spray for a lasting hold
• For a super stylish night out the Romantic Blow-Dry is
an excellent look. Begin by backcombing the hair at the
crown of the head and smoothing over to create volume.
• Next, take sections of the hair and loosely twist a small
section of hair around a Medium Round Brush. Blast with
heat from your hairdryer to achieve soft, loose curls and
run fingers through the hair for sexy kinks.
• Finish with a touch of Texturizer for a gentle ‘halo’
gloss
School-Girl Scraggle by Jonathan Long
Step by Step Guide
• Apply Styling Cream into clean, damp hair to boost
shine and create smooth locks. Create a side parting and
blow-dry on a medium heat with a small round brush.
• Separate the hair into a side parting and tie in a low
ponytail. Before fastening it give the hair a shake to loosen
the style and use your free hand to gently scope the hair
to the side twisting it into position, leaving the ends
loose and securing with hair pins
• Apply a generous amount of hairspray so the style stays
in place
Soft
Faux Bob by Ben Cooke
Step by Step Guide
• Begin by boosting your colour and shine with a rinse
in enhancer
• Blow dry using a Paddle Brush lifting the hair upwards
as you blow dry
• Create a rough side parting and gently use barrelled tongs
to create a loose wave to the front and sides of the bob
• Finish with a touch of Texturizer for a glossy finish
Streak-a-Boo
by Head Colourist,
Paul Bingham
(with Styling by Ben Cooke)
Paul advises: “Take last season’s dip dye phenomenon
to the next level with a cool and edgy colour technique which
will be sure to add a contemporary flash of colour to your
tresses. Add streaks of vibrant, two-toned colour to the under
layer of your hair to lift and brighten your natural tones”
Caramel Smudge by Head Colourist, Paul Bingham
(with Styling by Ben Cooke)
Paul
advises: “This is an incredibly quick and versatile
technique called ‘Clever Colour’. It works with almost every
hair colour and length for an effortless, natural and grown
out finish. The technique involves backcombing triangular
sections of hair all over the head, before applying colour
underneath and over the top of the sections, leaving the inner
area of the triangle colour-free. The result is a fantastic
seamless finish with a ‘beachy’ and textured effect that’s
grungy-cool. Better yet, it requires very little maintenance
as any re-growth will blend in with the colour effect, meaning
you can go months without needing to re-touch.”
Curly Boy by Jeremy White
Jonathan advises: “This is a new take on the fashionable
bed head look. For maximum impact gather the curls at the
front of the head with a comb and place into position using
a Gel. Run your fingers through the end of the curls, pulling
them down towards the forehead. To achieve a flawless finish
secure with hairspray”
King’s Road Quiff by Jeremy White
Jonathan advises: “A modern twist to the 1960s quiff
this look screams attitude. Create a rough parting and then
break up the front of the hair by applying Matte Putty. With
a tail comb pull the hair up to create a side quiff. Carefully
smooth the quiff with the comb and set with hairspray”
