I'm
so enjoying all the gorgeous make-up
around at the moment. There is a
real emphasis on 'pretty' just now
pale pinks, rose pinks and pale
blues are right on trend.
I love the more pinky tones in blushers
and lipsticks - in fact I haven't
worn them in years but I'd forgotten
how youthful they are. A really
gentle pink on the cheeks with a
pretty rose shade on lips and nails
really does look so fresh, it can
make the skin look almost air brushed.
I particularly love all the mineral
make-ups around. They go on so easily,
look so natural yet provide such
great coverage. They're a really
unusual concept and so very light
on the skin you hardly know you're
wearing it.
Unlike liquid or cream foundations
they don't sit in the lines and
wrinkles and they're excellent at
evening out skin tone. You must
follow the simple instructions to
apply them but they are so very
easy they're ideal or anyone who's
short on time. They're ideal for
people like me with sensitive, dry
skin - I really struggle to find
any foundation that doesn't feel
dry on my face after an hour or
two. |

I
particularly love Bare Essentuals
foundation and No 7's Mineral
Perfection Blusher. Both are
really light and such natural
shades you never look overdone.
And two shades of nail varnish
that I've really fallen for
are No 7's Speedy Dry in Coconut
Ice, a really pale pearly
pink and Heather, a gorgeous
rose pink that so feminine.
I'm determined to get some
really floaty florals this
summer and these shades will
be just perfect. I also love
lots of the Lancome sheer
lipsticks on offer just now,
plenty of pink there too,
I'm also on the look out for
my summer perfume. |
I like quite deep, heady scents
and have dozens of favourites that
I go back to time and time again,
but around springtime I just like
to have a new, lighter fragrance
so I'm going to be trying some light
florals to go with my present mood.
I'm
going to be brave and try
at least one or two of the
blue eye shadows out there
that are all the rage - I
used to love it when I was
a teenager but haven't worn
it since then. I must admit
I love it and I think it really
suited me, but I'm not sure
now that I'm a little more
mature shall we say. But I'm
assured that the new shades
really are flattering so I'm
willing to give it a go. |

It's so important to update your
look every now and then, it can
really be an eye-opener to find
that colours you wouldn't normally
choose really suit you after all.
It's so easy to get in a rut with
make up shades so every now again
it's a good idea to experiment.
Many
stores will help you with
your choices and if they have
time, will often do your make-up
for you which would be an
excellent time to try a new
look. Why not invite all your
girlfriends round for a make-up
swap evening where you all
get to try everyone else's
stuff. (Don't share mascara
though as that can cause infection).

Try each others nail varnishes
as they're difficult to try
in shops but do try shades
that you wouldn't normally
buy. My good friend had a
bright orange cream nail varnish
on her fingers and toes last
week and although I wouldn't
dream of looking at it in
the shop, she look absolutely
amazing in it, teamed with
brown cropped pants and deep
rust t-shirt she looked just
fab! |
So
ring the changes this Spring -there's
some great stuff out there just
waiting to be tried!
