I'm
having so much fun playing around
with hairpieces at the moment. I must
admit I shied away from hairpieces in
the past because I thought they would
be too fiddly and also obviously fake-looking.
But I have to say I'm a convert. Struggling
with what seems to be a bad hair year
for me so far I decided to take the plunge
and try out some of the easier to work
with pieces. I was pleasantly surprised
at just how easy some of them are.
I have shoulder length hair so have a
decent length ponytail but my hair is
incredibly fine so it doesn't really amount
to much. But just by adding an extension
piece to it I can really make a difference
to a not very interesting style so quickly
and effectively.
My
favourite for a day-to-day look is the
Cosmopolitan Layered Wrap which comes
on an elastic band and is as easy to put
in as a scrunchie. It really jazzes up
and disguises my rather pathetic ponytail
and gives a sort of casual, effortless
yet groomed style.
Reasonably priced so it really doesn't
break the bank and it's so useful for
those bad hair days. I also really like
the Oomph wrap too which also comes on
a stretch band and really adds volume
to fine hair like mine.
Both pieces can be dressed up for a glitzy
look with diamante combs and hair jewellery
and can really boost your confidence if
you have an occasion coming up and can't
rely on your own crowning glory. With
many shades available it should be easy
to find one near to your own colour for
a believable look. Check out our fabulous
shop section for other available pieces
- you'll be amazed at your new look!
Whilst
you're there have a look at the
fantastic FHI Pink Plaid straightners
we have just now. I've just bought these
for a present and was over the moon at
the great style and value.
In the set you get 2 straighteners a nifty
little 1" pair that's ideal for fringes
and a larger pair for whole head straightening.
In a gorgeous Burberry style pink plaid,
these are uber fashionable and an added
bonus is that for each set sold, a contribution
goes to Breast Cancer Care, a charity
that most of us care about.
I've
also bought one of the cute Tangle Teezers
that are so hot at the moment. This great
little de-tangling brush can be used on
wet or dry hair and won an award in the
Cosmopolitan 2010 awards.
My long haired niece is always complaining
of tangled hair so I've treated her to
the brush in fabulous Hot Pink.
With only two pay cheques before the silly-season
(I'm not going to say the word yet!) I
think I might start making my list and
squirreling away some bits and bobs whilst
we have some great things in stock. In
fact I think several friends would love
the Layered Wrap as much as me so that
could be a good place to start!
