If
youve been into any clothes shop
lately
then you cant have failed to notice
denim is the big item this year
its everywhere for this season. Rows
upon rows of jeans in all shapes and
sizes but, for me, all with on fatal
flaw. When, oh when are we finally
going to see the back of low-rise
jeans and trousers, and see the return
of jeans where the bottom is bottom
shaped! Even the styles that claim
to sit on the waist dont come anywhere
near to the belly button.
I have always detested this belly-hanging-out
fashion-lets face it, some of us would
be better off putting it away out
of sight, but its the horrible droopy
bottom shapes that really annoy me.
Surely a rounded, lifted bottom is
what were all after pert is the
word! |
Unfortunately
hipsters have never done the behind
any favours. High waisted lines
draw the eye upwards, giving the
appearance of a smaller waist and
longer legs and are essential if
youre on the short side.
Apart from the awful shape of jeans
around at the moment, even, more
perplexing is the use of fake
denim or look-alike denim that were
being offered. Frankly it looks
really cheap and nasty, and to me
defeats the whole object of having
denims.
Come on fashion designers, get real!
Jeans have been an essential item
in every ones wardrobe for decades
in all colours and cuts we love
them. But please, please give us
back the styles we know and love
and leave your quirky, un-wearable
shapes and textures on the drawing
board!

Isnt
it funny how we get attached to some
of our everyday accessories?
We all have our favourite earrings,
shoes and handbags, but for me, its
my purse.
I really, really hate it when my daytime
purse finally gives up on life and
I have to get a new one. Somehow the
new one just isnt the same, I cant
find the right compartments, the zips
seem all wrong and it just hasnt
got that smooth, worn feeling.
I know
that Ill get used to the new one,
and in time, it too will become an
old friend, but when its all new
and shiny it feels all wrong. |
|
Im
saying this of course because I
really must give in and get a new
one really soon. My present one
has broken zips, a faulty clasp
and loose stitching. Still, Im
very fond of it and I know it will
be heart wrenching to put it in
the bin after such faithful service.

Its
that time of year again when we all
have holidays booked and are looking
forward to peeling off a few layers
of clothing
Problem is that under winter trousers
we dont get to see our wobbly bits
quite so critically and though we
all have good intentions of doing
something about them before summer,
most of us have left it until now. |
At
this time of year we may have a
build up of dead layers of skin
and sluggish areas on the thighs
and tummy that wed really rather
not display in a bikini. But help
is at hand. There are re-vitalizing
products on the market that can
help improve circulation and the
overall appearance of these areas.
Liz Earles Energising range is fabulous
for getting these areas toned up
and recharged.
We especially love the exfoliator
for removing snakeskin layers
and the hip and thigh gel is one
of my all-time favourite products.
The smell alone will really invigorate
you and massaged onto your less
popular areas each day or even twice
a week will really improve the look
and feel of the skin.
It contains caffeine and butchers
broom, both excellent for the job
of toning and firming, and can help
with areas prone to puffiness or
water retention. I like to follow
up with a really good quality moisturizer
afterwards as a well moisturized
skin always has a younger appearance.
Try St.Ives Collagen body lotion
or a good, thick cream from the
Molton Brown range. If youve left
it quite late and need to bare all
in just a couple of weeks be persistent
and apply your products everyday
and you will notice a big improvement
by the time you leave for foreign
shores!
