Who doesn't love a bargain?
I certainly do, as I was reminded recently
when I visited an Outlet Village. I don't
have a retail outlet centre near to my
home so I always forget how fabulous they
are in between visits.
Luckily my fashion conscious sister reminds
me every now and again and drags me off
to the one nearest to us. We always make
a whole day of it and come away loaded
down with bags of goodies after having
a thoroughly girly day.
Our particular one has great name stores
for fashion, make-up, shoes, bags - everything
a girl could wish for in fact. On my last
visit I bought two pairs of my all time
favourite shoes for less than I had paid
for one pair on my local high street.
Again, two favourite lipsticks only cost
fractionally more than one does in our
nearby town. I think it's a particularly
good idea for gift-giving as you can get
a really substantial present for a lot
less than you would normally have to pay.
In fact, I've so many birthdays coming
up I think another visit will be on the
cards soon.
How
lovely to see all the new spring colours
in the shops at the moment. After such
a long drawn-out winter I think we are
all ready to banish the black to the back
of the wardrobe and inject a little colour
into our outfits.
I'm particularly pleased to see all the
gorgeous pastels and nudes that are in
vogue this season. I love all the pearly
pinks and oyster shades out there in clothing
plus the delicate aqua's and apple greens.
It's great to be able to tone down the
make-up too - natural shades are definitely
in, with lashes taking centre stage.
For a really fresh look, go for a light
blush and neutral eye colour but with
real emphasis on mascara. The darker and
thicker the better 'just now-think of
1950's glamour lashes and you'll be perfect.
If you don't have great lashes then give
fakes a go! There are some really good
ones around now and its super trendy to
wear them. Actually, I don't have much
to brag about, but I will say I was blessed
with really long curly dark eyelashes
that everyone has always assumed are fake
anyway so I'm right on trend.
If I do two coats of mascara I can't put
my sunglasses on as my lashes touch the
lenses, but then I have had to deal with
difficult hair since birth so don't get
jealous!
After
such a slow start to spring
its nice finally to see all the
flowers and bulbs poking their heads
through, it really gives you a lift
to know that better weather is on
the way.
If you don't have a garden of your
own, then give yourself a little
pick-me-up with a bunch of tulips
or daffodils. Don't wait to be bought
flowers for an occasion - these
days even supermarkets have affordable,
cheery bunches that really will
lift your mood after the long, dark
days we've had.
It's amazing how a little bunch
of flowers can really brighten your
day, and with the start of British
Summer Time, it's a great time to
have a good sort out in your wardrobe
and make-up bag.
Maybe you could visit your local
Outlet Village to re-stock on goodies.
