As
regular readers will know,
I have struggled all my life with unruly,
prone-to-frizz hair that really can be
a daily challenge. I would clearly love
wash and wear hair but it just isn't to
be.
Over the years I've tried almost all the
available products on the market, with
greater or lesser results. I've long been
a fan of John Frieda's Frizz Ease range
and always have several of his fabulous
products on the go at any time, but for
the past few weeks I've been having great
success with the wonderful Orofluido serum
that we have here at UKHairdressers.
Obviously were lucky enough to try many
products that we work with here and I
can honestly say that this is one of the
best I've tried. This gorgeous golden
fluid really smoothes and tames my naturally
fine but coarse hair giving it a lovely
shine and fantastic manageability.
For shoulder length hair you will need
quite literally the size of a 5p piece
to smooth through the lengths after washing
on wet hair, possibly a touch more if
your hair is thicker. Avoid the roots,
as these need the least conditioner, and
use either once or twice a week on healthy
hair or indeed every time you wash your
hair if you have difficult hair like me.
I love the lovely vanilla fragrance of
the oil which really lasts on the hair
and its protective nature is a real must
if you use any form of heat styling tools
regularly. You can even use the tiniest
amount of serum on dry hair on non-wash
days to tame any frizz between styling
- rub a tiny amount between palms and
just smother over the length.
The bottle will really last as you use
such a small amount so it's a great investment
too. If you, like me, have struggled with
frizz, especially in this humid weather
then I'd definitely say this is well worth
going for.
If
you've been loving the revival of the
maxi-dress this summer then get
ready for the next revival this autumn
of the midi-dress. My fashion designer
friend has assured me that all the designer
ranges will be featuring the midi (calf
length) this autumn/winter.
Obviously
more practical to wear in what might be
wetter weather the midi look fabulous
with either short or long boots and really
balances out all the chunky knits that
will be coming up.
For the Boho lovers then invest in a midi
in denim and you'll get so much use from
it, although if we're lucky enough to
get an Indian Summer this year, there
are some really pretty broidery anglais
gypsy midi's just appearing that will
look fab with denim or cotton jackets.
This year really has been 'say yes to
a dress' year, everyone has been enjoying
the ease of just throwing on a dress and
feeling fabulous.
Dresses are easy to dress up and down,
casual daytime with flip flops and a hat
or really glammed up with killer heals
and statement necklaces.
Or for a real sex-kitten look go for the
nude colours with a nude shoe which is
fantastic for adding the illusion of height.
If you've shied away from dresses in the
past give them another go - there are
so many different styles, shapes and lengths
out there at the moment there really couldn't
be a better time to find one that really
suits you.
My
fave-rave at the moment is the
beautiful After Ego shade from OPI.
Fabulous if you love the nude neutrals
that are massive just now, OPI varnishes
always deliver wonderful glossy shine
and a really professional finish.
If colour is not your thing then I think
you'll love this one!
