Im
going to Heaven soon!
No, Im not planning on dying just yet,
Im talking about shopping Heaven of course.
Im off to one of my favourite shopping
centres soon which is Portsmouth.
Actually, its hundreds of miles away
from where I live or Id be there every
week. Im calling in on my way to the
beautiful Isle of White (the home of my
other Mecca, Liz Earles Union shop). Portsmouth
for me combines my love of the sea with
my love of shopping in top quality shops
and all my favourites are there.
I
will be treating myself in both the LOccitane
shop and the gorgeous Molton Brown shop
both of which smell just like my own
home as I own nearly as much as they have!
Ill also be buying some fabulous footwear
in my all-time favourite shoe shop Ecco,
and I fully intend to add to my Phase
Eight collection.
And
what a lovely place to actually spend
a day all the ferries coming in and
out at the port, the huge seagulls making
their wonderful sound over your head,
the wealth of history at the dock which
houses HMS Victory, and the wonderful
contemporary design of the spindle, a
shiny towering structure dominating the
skyline looking out to sea. And the sea
itself I was born and brought up on
the coast and have salt water running
through my veins, I think.
I
have a really strong affinity with any
coastal place and yearn to be beside the
sea as often as possible.
The fantastic bracing sea-air always energizes
and re-invigorates me and I must say the
British coast, even in less favourable
weather, rivals anything else Ive seen
abroad.
Our coastline is so diverse there is always
something to hold your interest especially
when, like Portsmouth, they build a fabulous
shopping centre right next to it!
I
think Id better consider taking an empty
suitcase with me on this trip (and a heavy
piggy bank) as I just know there are wonderful
things out there with my name on I can
hear the handbags, nail varnishes and
perfumes calling to me, buy me, buy me.
Im also on the lookout for some opaque
gem jewellery that you often find in coastal
shops.
I really want a yellow jasper necklace
to add to my collection and with all the
lovely blues and aquas around in fashion
this season Im on the lookout for gorgeous
turquoise pieces. I always regret not
buying a fabulous amber necklace I found
in a boutique jewellers in Brighton last
year so Im looking to make up for it
this year on my travels.
Do consider visiting our wonderful coastline
this year, even if youre taking your
main holiday abroad, try to get away for
the odd weekend break and enjoy the wonderful
seaside, along with some fabulous shopping
opportunities, you wont be disappointed.
