Panic
over! As
I related last time I have suddenly
realised that Christmas is just
around the corner and I need to
start shopping in earnest, so this
week parcels have been arriving
left, right and centre.
|
Thank
goodness for the Internet
I say!
With
all the horrid weather around
|
at the moment there's no way I'm
battling my way around the shops
in search of things that seemingly
don't exist, or arguing with shop
assistants who seemingly don't want
to assist.
|
|
And
I must take that sign off my back
that reads 'Mothers with prams please
run me over' and the one on my front
which says 'If you have a mobile phone
please feel free to engage in a loud
domestic quarrel if you are in front
of me at the till'.
Its
not that I'm anti-social or
anything but what is it about
this time of year that turns
all shoppers into frenzied maniacs
intent on causing me physical
or mental harm?
How much more pleasant to click
a few buttons and have my cheerful
(despite the weather) postie
arrive with my parcels. |
|
I must say I've done a lot of shopping
'in-house' this year as most of my
female relations want hair - related
products, and if I say so myself we
do have a fantastic range available.
|
|
My
previously 'old fashioned'
curls are apparently all the
rage again
and all my nieces want curling
irons for Christmas so that's
easily sorted. I knew if I
waited long enough I'd be
back in fashion again!
I've even had a request for
eyelash curlers from one female
relative and I'm glad to say
we can deal with those too
so that's another name ticked
off the list.
My littlest niece doesn't
want a curling wand though
- she says she'd rather have
Peppa Pig, but then she is
only three years old - give
her time.
And my seven year old nephew
has a shaved head so I don't
think they'll be much use
to him either, but I may treat
him to some clip in hair extensions
in pink and purple from our
funky diva range. Or maybe
not.
Anyway I'm well on my way
to a completed list which
will leave me all the more
time to ponder on what I'd
really like this year.
I've been told that its highly
unlikely that I'll be getting
the 3 carat diamond and platinum
necklace I quite fancied,
nor the Aston Martin which
would be to useful, so I'll
really have to spend a little
time re-assessing my own list
and making a few adjustments.
I've already crossed off the
Cartier watch when we failed
to win the lottery yet again
last week, and the holiday
home in Dubai when its suggestion
was met with derisible laughter.
I noticed that cat, dog and
two baby rabbits had already
been crossed off for me in
permanent marker pen no less
so I don't think I'll be getting
them either. (I'll have to
return the rabbit hutch and
fluffy baskets when he's not
looking). Perhaps I'll start
my new list with 'socks' and
work my way up from there.
