Like most women, I have my absolute favourites when it comes to beauty products. I do try an enormous amount of products with the nature of my job, but I return time and time again to my own favourites because they deliver results for me.

Although I'm starting to need the help of anti-ageing products, I can't say I've ever really got on with them for my skin.

Having a dry, sensitive skin I have to be really careful about what I put on my skin, especially my face, and anti ageing products do tend to have a slightly drying effect.

Although most of them have a good tightening and lifting effect, not many of them offer the comfort
factor of a regular moisturizer. Of all the anti-ageing products on the market I do think that Gatineau are about the best.

A French beauty house, as all the best are, they do have a wide range of products that really do deliver good results against the signs of ageing and yet until now I hadn't found one that offered a real comfort factor for very dry skin like mine.

But I really like their day and night cream Nutriactive with Omegas 3,6 & 9, which although they contain some of the anti-ageing qualities of their other creams, they also have a wonderfully comforting 'slip' factor unusual in these types of face creams.

If you're skin is really dehydrated at this time of year this could be a good one to try. Not necessary for the under 30's of course, but I certainly noticed fine lines beginning to appear quite early in my 30's which is quite common to dry skins.
Also, if you feel you need to moisturize more than once in the morning, or you still feel a little 'tight' after applying your day cream, then that's a sure sign that your usual brand isn't working hard enough for you.

Again, I'm not a great fan of serums as I generally don't like the texture, but Gatineau serums do seem to feel better under your moisturizer so for extra results on those wrinkles try one of theirs.

Choose carefully, as they are not the most affordable products, but I must say they do last an incredible length of time due to their effectiveness.

I think winter 2009 will go down as 'the year of the coat'. With so much 'weather' I think I've used nearly every different coat I have this season.

From the heaviest, chunkiest faux fur, to the lightweight fleece, via the full-on trench coat and shower proof mac. You name it I've worn it.

And boy am I glad I own such a multitude of scarves as I've lived in them for weeks now. With the weather changing as
fast as it has been doing I don't think I've worn the same coat two days running.

Following the very short spell of snow we had in my part of the world we had a lovely week of crisp sunshine, still a bit chilly but time to put the ski-wear back in the closet.

Following that, out came the storm coat for the three days of mild but rainy weather we had, then that was replaced with the chunky fleece when it turned a bit nippy again.

Actually, it was fun to bring out some old favourites again and by the look of things winter isn't over yet so I won't be relegating them to the back of the wardrobe just yet.

Searching through an old cupboard yesterday imagine my delight when I found a folder full of 70's and 80's knitting patterns!

Not something to be delighted about I hear you say but I have it on very good authority that 80's fashion is about to hit in a very big way.

We've already seen bits of it creeping in on the catwalks with full on Duran Duran video hairdos and make-up.
Okay, I'm told that this time round it will be a little more sophisticated but the New Romantics out there can look forward to all that dressing up, lace, frills - the lot.

Now all I need are some knitting needles and wool and I've cracked it!.
