It's
around about now
that girls like me are beginning
to suffer! I'm talking curly, fine,
prone-to-frizz hair girls such as
I am, who find each day in autumn
a trial as far as hair styling goes.
The colder air, windy weather and
constant moisture in the atmosphere,
really does play havoc with our
kind of hair. It can be difficult
to manage this hair type with products
as although prone to dryness (which
causes the frizz) adding products
to fine hair, can weigh it down
or make it look limp. I find I cannot
manage at all without a frizz-ease
serum before drying, but I am having
really good results by using Philip
Kingsleys Elasticizer before washing.
According to top trichologist Philip,
our hair should be able to stretch
to 3 times its own length before
breaking, but with colouring, heated
styling etc, not many of us could
achieve this, and dry, curly hair
certainly won't. But using his formula
in the elasticizer really can put
strength back into the hair. This
unique product is applied to dry
hair before you wash it and really
helps limit damage from the actual
washing process. Although we all
lose an amount of hair when we wash,
weak hair will often break quite
badly during any process, even washing.
Even sleeping can snap hair as we
rub against the pillow and weak
hair will often come out in quite
a large amount when brushed even
gently.
In order to manage weak hair, I
really think it is worth trying
this product. If yours is not too
bad on condition then use maybe
once a week, but hair as delicate
as mine can actually be treated
before every wash. Philip Kingsley
has a great reputation amongst the
stars too - this formula was actually
made for the lovely Audrey Hepburn
originally and his products have
won many awards from Cosmopolitan
to Saga magazines!

I
have absolutely fallen in love
with Leighton Dennys nail varnish
shade 'Rebel'. To be honest, I'm
usually a french polish type of
girl, but now and again I love
the drama of really striking nails.
Last season I fell head over heels
for the deep, dark chocolates,
but this year it has to be 'Rebel'
for me! A really deep sumptuous
purple with a real iridescence
to it, it's simply fabulous on
long or short nails and amazing
on toes. If you only buy one colour
this season, then go for this.
For a really gorgeous day look
though, you couldn't do better
than Leightons all-time best selling
shade 'Butterfly Wings'. This
is a truly gorgeous, pearly, shimmering,
pale pink colour and as the name
suggests, has a real 'fairy' appeal.
It's also fabulous when applied
over other colours as it gives
a wonderful iridescent highlight
to the nails. A really feminine,
beautiful shade, this is certainly
one I'll be re-buying!

I
haven't worn a beret
since I was made to wear one every
day at my all girls school (in
bottle green of all colours!)
but they are big and getting bigger
this winter. Everywhere you look,
someone is sporting a hat, but
berets in particular.
Red seems to be a key colour (as
it is with handbags this season)
and almost all the ones I've seen
are either knitted or crocheted.
I think they look fantastic on
everyone else, but I think I'd
like to try some on in private
before I take the plunge!
