Views & tips from your side of the counter........
Taking a look at the catwalks the other day it would appear that red is again the order of the day this winter. Red has made a really big comeback in the last few years - every shade from scarlet to crimson seems to be in vogue. And as the weather seems at last to have cottoned on to the fact that it's autumn, its not to soon to start adding those reds to your wardrobe.

The 'Christmas-Party-Frock' is also red this year, although I can't say I'm too keen on the revival of the puff-ball hem look that's around again - it's always has something of the dress - tucked-in-the knickers nightmare to me.

I absolutely love the gorgeous chenille scarf and gloves sets that are around again this year, they not only look fab but feel so cosy next to the skin.

I was also pleased to see that much of the 'preppy' look is having another comeback - maybe the 'Ladette to Lady' thing on TV is responsible, but I've always liked this look and its fantastic versatility.

Skinny-rib polo's suit any figure and are really flattering under any jacket, and I'm reliably informed that pearls, real or otherwise, are definitely back in fashion.
Hairstyles too are a little tidier than of late with huge, bouncing healthy-looking curls and waves popping up all over the place. Maybe the country tweed look that's around backs up a survey I recently read, where 1 in 3 people said their ideal home would be a country estate. Is this the end of industrial loft-apartment living I wonder?
I must admit a four poster has always had more appeal than a bed-deck as far as I'm concerned - sleeping on a suspended shelf has just never appealed to me somehow. Maybe this change in fashion will inspire the likes of Paris Hilton to put away her miniature handbag - pooches and we'll soon see her being dragged along by a Welsh Border Collie or a pair of lurches? (Dressed in cashmere coat and pearls of course - no, the dog, not Paris!).

It is a common fallacy that flat shoes are necessarily better for you than high heels but this is not strictly true. Whilst most of us appreciate the perils of constant high-heel wearing it's not readily known that some flat shoes can be equally as bad for the body.
Cheap flat styles that don't have a contoured insole or that lack a sidewall to support the arch of the foot can lead to problems including bunions. They may also transfer impact to the legs and spine.

So pay attention to looking for pairs with a well constructed inner with a moulded insole and a slight heel which will increase comfort and lessen impact on other parts of the body.
